Hey guys.
As usual, I start up X-Chat Aqua, find undernet under server list, hit connect, and I get this:

Looking up us.undernet.org
* Connecting to us.undernet.org (69.16.172.34) port 6667...
* Connected. Now logging in...
* *** Looking up your hostname
* *** Checking Ident
* *** Found your hostname
* *** No ident response
* No lame bots allowed here..
* Closing Link: Sentinal by mesa.az.us.undernet.org (K-lined)
* Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).
Cycling to next server in UnderNet...

And then then it repeats until it times out. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

You're*

Try connecting to a different server. You must have done something to make it think you were a bot... dDoSing someone were you? -- Perhaps ping bombing?

xchat is fine, no need to get colloquy...

do a portscanning to yourself and find out which ports are open, sometimes servers check that you don't have a typical port of a malware or bot open. also, try changing your name in the client.

here's a couple other undernet servers you can try:

Amsterdam2.nl.eu.undernet.org
Helsinki.FL.EU.Undernet.org
sanjose.ca.us.undernet.org

i use the Amsterdam and i don't get too many connection problems

Trying to connect from my laptop, but I'm getting a _similar_ error
(My nick is stewy)

* *** Looking up your hostname
* *** Checking Ident
* *** Found your hostname
* *** No ident response
* Your username is invalid.
* Connect with your real username, in lowercase.
* If your mail address were foo@bar.com, your username would be foo.
* Closing Link: stewy by LosAngeles.CA.US.Undernet.org (USER: Bad username)
* Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).
Cycling to next server in UnderNet...
* Disconnected

(I'm going to try the servers oro suggested and see if that changes anything.)

Working with Amsterdam2.nl.eu.undernet.org - Guess thats the one to use ;)

Also, happy Independence Day to all of ya in the US of A

See this is where you fail... You do not magically have a different network mask or IP when switching IRC clients.
