I think the question you are tying to ask is
How do I forge caller ID in order to make it look like The phone I am ringing from is somebody else's.
Okay Caller ID is the Idetification number that is "supposedly" unique to your phone and is used by your phone network to identify the different phone lines and numbers that are on it.
Forging this number used to be really easy but now only with specialist equipment it can be done.
Do a few searches on this forum and in Google.
Also So called "Diverter #s" that you speak of are unique to the city and SP that you are on. But good luck on finding these numbers because they are closely kept.

All I can say is good luck... you would alsmot be better off doing this from a cell phone rather than a lan line phone.. lan line phones as zelda put are really hard to get the numbers to spoof it.. yet if you use a cell phone you can mask your actual number into what ever you want 555-5555 or anything else your mind and imagine. Do some google searching there are alot of people looking this one up due to the fact they showed it working on TSS which was kinda cool lol. :)

Yeah I'm using a cellphone, but I'll be completely honest, this is all new to me. My pasttime is spent with video and independent film. But I have always been revolutionary, Now I just want to try and get over technologically, instead of always getting down with protest in the streets. I know this seems like a weak thing to try but I'm just trying to figure out how to mask my cell phone number, For the chatline time steal and other reasons as well. Any help would be greatly appriciated, that's why I came to the real rebels undreground, with this question.

Yeah I did google it even before I came on this forum. You see I been at it for twoo days well many hours within two days time. I tried to opdivert but had no luck. I tried a calling card and that didn't work. On google I found several links but mostly articles that say it can be done but don't really explain how. Damm I just got my degree in communications and a lot of these terms we studied in class like spoofing and all that. I should've paid attention more. But here I am in the underground asking for help, I just can't understand the process of masking my id. I mean I understand it but ca't get it to work with my phone.

Masking your CallerID are you saying making it have a NULL value or changing it to a different , spoofed, ID.
Many new phones have protection against such spoofing attacks thats why it was easier to do so earlier on (about 5 years ago) and most of those tutorials are old and involved old modems, etc. This is a division of phreaking if im not mistaken so search for CallerID on different phreaking sites.

This is not completely accurate. Back in the day, there weren't *that* many phones that even had a caller ID display. It was easier to do earlier on, because it was easier to take over trunk lines back in the day.

I found a pretty good how-to on how to really spoof callerID not too long ago, I'll see if I can find it..

seeing as how you have done some what your fair share I will get you closer to your feild of spoofing. You can spoof one of 2 ways which are both found right off google (I found these sites in under 10 minutes.. so you may want to try and do better searching.

http://lucky225.austin2600.org/ANI.txt
and also
http://www.security-...pic.php?p=78005

you need to do your research on cell phones. You waid you got your degree in communications correct? So acronyms such ad ANI and PRI or you may have even heard of PBX or VoIP.. if you have no idea then your communications degree is a joke. (sorry to be harsh) <_< well the easiest way to spoof is to reprogramm you MID number to the new one, yet for this you need the all important programming numbers for your provider. Here in the US we have stuff like t-mobile and altell and such, yet beyond needing the providers program #'s you also need the ones for that phone. for example on a altell service for the nokia phone you use *#639#2204 menu or for the kycrocera you have to put in 6 1's then select program then input 6 0's then send, when prompted your MID and i think it is called your NCI... as you can see you need some cellphone background... if you want codes fast get a part-time job at walmart in there connection center they teach you all the program codes :) I learned from a friend who works there and he "accedently" brought one of those nice books home. Now if getting a part-time job or social engineering isn't your cut of tea then google the codes..

You can also spoof via PBX which can be found all over the net.

Thanx for even hittin me up with a reply.

"May the things that make you all happy and smile continue on that way for you"

I keep working on it, I guess I just wanted to try this little experient by using another free trial offer from a chat line as my subject, to see if I could spoof my id with them because I know their free trial offer is based on ANI identification. But of course if I could acomplish something like that than maybe I could accomplish more things too. By the way, I checked out some of the info from Lucky225 but had little luck when messin with Telus. Maybe I need to try harder. But damm I have to work in the day, this is just a pasttime, and a little bit more than curiousity. I guess I just need to keep trying.

Thanx
C/S
