Brute Force

Brute force is a trial and error method to decode encrypted data such as passwords.

DoS

A denial of service (DoS) attack is an incident in which a user or organization is deprived of the services of a resource they would normally expect to have. Normally flooding ports, common attacks are: Buffer Overflow, Smurf, SYN, and Teardrop Attacks.

E-mail

Anonymous e-mailing and mail bombing.

Encryption

The manipulation of data to prevent accurate interpretation by all but those for whom the data is intended

Exploits

A hardware or software vulnerability that can be 'exploited' to gain access to a system or service.

Keyloggers

A keylogger is a computer program that captures the keystrokes of a computer user and stores them. Modern keyloggers can store additional information, such as images of the user’s screen. Most malicious keyloggers send this data to a third party remotely (such as via email).

Network Tools

Port Scanners, Honey Pots, Sniffers, IP utilities and other network tools.

Password Tools

Password generators and more. Tools to create good passwords, store many passwords, etc.

Proxy

A Proxy is a gateway that relays one Internet session to another.

Trojans

“Trojan horse”; a reference to the story of the Trojan War, a piece of malware (such as a virus program) contained within a legitimate program. The purpose of the Trojan can be wide, but the distribution approach is to attempt to have the user willingly install the host program to gain access to the victim’s computer.

Virus and Anti-Virus

A virus is a software program capable of reproducing itself and usually capable of causing great harm to files or other programs on the same computer; "a true virus cannot spread to another computer without human assistance"
